About Newcastle Preparatory School

Newcastle Preparatory School is an independent co-educational preparatory school in Jesmond, teaching children from ages 3 to 11. It describes itself as the only independent co-ed prep school in Newcastle and has a strong record of preparing pupils for entry to the region's leading secondary schools, including the Royal Grammar School, Newcastle High School for Girls and Newcastle School for Boys. Its facilities include a STEM hub, library, and dedicated art and music provision, along with a Forest School programme and a broad curriculum enriched by educational visits. At its most recent Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspection, the school was judged excellent for both pupils' academic achievement and their personal development.
