About Kumon Jesmond

Kumon Jesmond is a study centre at 156 Sandyford Road offering the Kumon maths and English programmes for children from age three through to A-level, and has been a fixture of the local education scene since September 2012. Children attend the centre twice a week and complete short daily worksheets at home the other five days, using Kumon's individualised, self-learning method in which students master each topic before moving on, developing discipline, fluency and independent study skills. The centre is led by instructor Natalie Taylor, who holds a first-class degree in mathematics and previously taught in secondary schools, and has built a loyal following with families travelling from as far as County Durham. It is Ofsted registered, accepts childcare vouchers and offers the Kumon Connect digital study option, with a designated early-learner area, an independent reading area, free parking and disabled access. Registration costs 35 pounds and tuition is 55 pounds per month per subject, with sessions Wednesday to Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
