Shift Driving School

About Shift Driving School

Shift Driving School is a DVSA approved school offering both manual and automatic driving lessons across Newcastle, Jesmond, Gateshead and the wider Tyne and Wear area, with a team of instructors rather than a single sole trader, which can make it easier to find availability or a good personality fit. Lessons are bookable in two-hour blocks, and the school also runs intensive courses for learners who want to compress their training into a shorter period ahead of a test date.

Offering both transmissions from one school is useful if you are undecided between manual and automatic, or if a household has learners who want different options. Booking and instructor details are handled through the Shift website and its Facebook page. Booking a regular slot early is the surest way to keep momentum through to test day.
