About Newcastle Civic Centre
Newcastle Civic Centre at Barras Bridge is the headquarters of Newcastle City Council and one of England's finest examples of 1960s modernist architecture. Designed by City Architect George Kenyon and completed in 1967, it was formally opened by King Olav V of Norway in 1968 and is Grade II* listed. As well as housing council services, the building is home to Newcastle Register Office and is a licensed venue for weddings and civil ceremonies, with options including the Leazes Room. Ceremonies are booked through the council's registration service.

St George's Church Jesmond
