About Jesmond Residents Association

Jesmond Residents Association is a community organisation representing the residents of Jesmond, and describes itself as one of the longest-established residents' associations in the country, founded in 1964. It works to protect and enhance the quality of life in the area and to look after the interests of those who live there. The association engages on local issues including planning applications and development proposals, housing matters such as houses in multiple occupation and lettings boards, licensing, and anti-social behaviour. Run by a committee, it holds an annual general meeting, publishes meeting summaries, and keeps members informed through e-bulletins and newsletters, alongside a community forum for residents to discuss local matters.
