The Punch Bowl

Characterful Jesmond pub with fourteen cask beers, a live music venue, and a dog-friendly policy. Sunday roasts, stand-up comedy nights, and a vinyl record collection behind the bar.

About The Punch Bowl

The Punch Bowl is a pub at 125 Jesmond Road, first recorded in 1822 and rebuilt in a striking Scottish Baronial style in 1879. Locally listed for its heritage, the venue combines a ground-floor bar with an upstairs events space available for hire. It serves beers, wines and cocktails, and is home to Birria Bella, a Mexican kitchen offering birria and other Mexican dishes. The building also includes a cinema space, and the pub can be booked for private events.
