Jesmond Lawn Tennis Club

Adult and junior tennis coaching for members and non-members.

About Jesmond Lawn Tennis Club

Jesmond Lawn Tennis Club is a members' tennis club at 102 Osborne Road, Jesmond, with its entrance off Reid Park Road. Founded in 1883, the club moved to its current site in 1890 and counts the 1902 Wimbledon Ladies' Singles champion Muriel Robb among its history. The clubhouse overlooks three refurbished artificial-grass courts, all fitted with LED floodlights at no extra charge to members so members can play year-round, and there are changing rooms and a clubhouse bar. Adult and junior coaching runs in blocks of five or six weeks aligned with school half-terms, open to both members and non-members and delivered by LTA-qualified coaches covering beginners through to advanced and competitive players, with private lessons, disability tennis and community sessions also available. Annual membership for 2026-27 is 175 pounds for adults, 85 pounds for students, and from 30 to 60 pounds for juniors, remarkable value compared with commercial health clubs. Social tennis, ladders and club nights keep things lively, and enquiries can be made by email to info@jesmondtennisclub.com.
