About Dosa Kitchen
Dosa Kitchen is a family-run South Indian restaurant in Jesmond, serving cuisine inspired by the Tamil Nadu region of southern India. It began as a pop-up in Newcastle's west end before opening its permanent home just off Osborne Road in 2017. The restaurant takes its name from the dosa, a thin pancake made from a fermented batter of ground rice and lentils that is left to prove for around 48 hours before cooking. Alongside dosas, the menu features a range of small plates and dishes with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Dining is in an informal upstairs room, and the kitchen is known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere.
