Chakh Dhoom is an Indian street food restaurant at the top of Osborne Road in Jesmond, occupying the ground floor of the Best Western hotel building. Its name combines chakh, meaning to taste, and dhoom, meaning smoke, reflecting a kitchen built around fresh spices and traditional cooking techniques. The menu draws on the regional street food traditions of different Indian states and includes a main menu, a children's menu, desserts, a wine list, an early bird menu and a Sunday roast, with gluten-free and other allergen options. The restaurant won Best Street Food Restaurant of the Year at the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards and supports local charities through its fundraising.
