Awesome Franks is an artisan sandwich shop and deli set in a former wine merchants at West Jesmond Metro Station on Lyndhurst Avenue. It was opened in 2025 by Alex Walker, who is also behind Scream for Pizza, and brings a focus on carefully made sandwiches to the West Jesmond parade. The shop trades Wednesday to Saturday and has quickly become a notable recent addition to the neighbourhood's independent food scene.
