About As You Like It

As You Like It occupies part of the Jesmond Three Sixty complex on Archbold Terrace, the redeveloped site of the 1864 Jesmond railway station, and is one of the largest single venues in the neighbourhood. It runs over three floors, with four bars, a pan-Asian restaurant, karaoke rooms and a garden terrace fitted with fire pits, and its eclectic salvaged-furniture interior has made it a fixture of Jesmond nights out for well over a decade. Live music and DJs run at weekends alongside drag brunches and a long cocktail list, and the venue holds a late licence on Friday and Saturday.

It is also a serious events address. Several of its rooms are let for private hire, from a 14-seat private dining room and the smaller Lounge and Snug spaces through to Frangipani, a function room taking around 130 seated or 220 standing with its own bar and dance floor. That range makes it unusual in Jesmond: a team of a dozen and a company of two hundred can both be accommodated in the same building, and the site sits a few minutes' walk from Jesmond Metro station and the top of the city centre.
