Port of Shadows
Marcel Carné's 1938 French Poetic Realism classic starring Jean Gabin and Michèle Morgan.
About This Event
Marcel Carné's 1938 Port of Shadows follows Jean, a deserter who arrives in a foggy port city and meets Nelly, another social outcast, as the pair navigate life on society's margins. With a screenplay by Jacques Prévert and atmospheric cinematography of shadows and fog that anticipates film noir, the 91-minute film is one of the best-known examples of French Poetic Realism.
