Big Red & The Grinners are one of the North East's most notorious live bands, led by frontman Paul 'Big Red' Randall. Featuring banjo, accordion, double bass, acoustic guitars, and percussion, they move seamlessly from bluegrass classics and Jay Z covers to a hilarious rendition of Paradise City — all delivered with infectious energy and plenty of 'Yee Haws'. Support comes from Good Guy Hank, a trio blending blistering bluegrass guitar, lightning mandolin, virtuoso fiddle, and three-part harmonies. With members from Scotland and Melbourne, they draw on influences from Hank Williams to Gillian Welch. A foot-stomping double bill perfect for a summer evening at the Civic.
