Bikini Body + Ben Katzman

This double bill pairs two high-energy acts. Ben Katzman is a Boston-based, Miami-raised rock'n'roll showman and self-taught shredder whose band DeGreaser channels five decades of hard-rock heritage, wearing its love of KISS, Van Halen and the Ramones on its sleeve. The sound blends speed-metal riffs, duelling guitar solos, punk gang vocals and arena-rock choruses, all delivered with an infectious sense of fun. Beyond the music, Katzman is also the creative force behind Boston's BUFU Records. Joining him is Bikini Body, a five-piece originally from Edinburgh described as "your favourite DJ's favourite punk band". Their post-punk-meets-dance sound has been tipped by Glasgow's Optimo Music and sits, in their own words, "dancier than punk and punkier than dance", a spiky, danceable counterpoint to Katzman's arena-rock exuberance. Together it promises a loud, riotous night.
