About Jala Therapies
Jala Therapies works from a purpose-built treatment room at Jesmond Pool on St George's Terrace and has been established since 2012. Its therapist, Michelle, has a particular interest in Asian massage and healing techniques, having studied Ayurveda in Auroville in South India and traditional Thai massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Treatments include Ayurveda marma massage, a full-body massage focusing on marma pressure points and using oil matched to the client's dosha, along with Thai massage, sports massage, pregnancy massage and cupping therapy. Appointments can be booked online, with longer sessions and gift-voucher bookings arranged directly. The centre is open Monday to Friday.
