About Caledonian Hotel
The Caledonian Hotel is an 89-room hotel on Osborne Road, in the middle of Jesmond's main strip of bars and restaurants. Its Phoenix bar is a popular spot with students, and the hotel is within walking distance of Jesmond and West Jesmond Metro stations.
The hotel was owned by Peel Hotels until October 2026, when it was sold to Saggar Leisure Ltd, a Newcastle-based property developer. The new owners have said they plan to invest £2 million in the hotel over the coming years and to keep the existing management and staff.
