A weekend of live music, theatre, and food across Jesmond and the wider North East. The Cumberland Arms hosts another lazy Sunday session, young performers take to the stage at People's Theatre, and the coast is calling with street food at Spanish City and a market at Tynemouth Station. Here is what is on from Friday to Sunday.

Lazy Sunday with Stagger Lee

Sunday 28 June, 4-9pm at Cumberland Arms, Ouseburn. The Cumberland's legendary Lazy Sunday sessions continue with Stagger Lee bringing blues, roots, and rock to the beer garden. One of the best free live music afternoons in Newcastle, just a short walk downhill from Jesmond.

SA Youth Academy Summer Show

Saturday 28 June, 1:30pm and 5pm at People's Theatre, Heaton. The young performers of SA Youth Academy present their summer showcase at the People's Theatre. Two performances to choose from, with dance, drama, and plenty of energy from the next generation of North East talent.

Buzz Dance: At The Movies

Friday 27 June, 7:30pm at Northern Stage. A dynamic dance showcase inspired by cinema, performed at Northern Stage in the city centre. A great way to kick off the weekend with something creative and high-energy.

Something in the Water (Joe McElderry)

Saturday 28 June at Theatre Royal, Newcastle. Joe McElderry stars in this new musical at the Theatre Royal, with performances at 2:30pm and 7:30pm. A feel-good show with strong North East connections.

Feast by the Sea

Saturday and Sunday at Spanish City, Whitley Bay. Street food, local producers, and live entertainment at the iconic Spanish City dome. A brilliant excuse for a trip to the coast -- take the Metro from Jesmond and you are there in under half an hour.

Tynemouth Station Market

Saturday 27 June, 9am-4pm at Tynemouth Station. FREE entry. Handmade crafts, vintage finds, street food, and live music beneath the Victorian canopy. A reliable weekend favourite, easily reached by Metro from Jesmond.
